Having worked for a catering company, she has done cakes, and such for years, so the quaint candy shop seems right up her alley. When she decides to expand the offerings, she reaches out to Dakota, who is in the middle of a crisis himself. When he makes the rash decision to come to Wadelin Shores, these castaways are about to get a second unique lease on life. Grace needs to stay the year, though, and Dakota thought himself just passing through.
